Child & Family Outreach

The Family Outreach Program serves families in the Hillside-Quadra, North Park & Fernwood areas.
The goal is to promote resilience in families, with children 0-11 years of age, in building their capacity.

Program areas include:
Support, Advocacy, Mentoring, Goal setting, Budgeting, Skill Building, Mediation, Referrals, Healthy Relationships and System Navigation.

The Family Outreach Program offers the following programming on a rotational basis:

  • Food Skills for Families/ Food Sense: Healthy Cooking on a Budget

  • Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Group: More information

  • Mother’s Mental Health Toolkit: This group is for caregivers and children newborn -2 years old.

  • Positive Parenting Using Restitution: This group is for parents/caregivers of school age children. Restitution is a very individualized values-based approach which leans heavily into parent/child attachment. The approach allows for children and parents to work together to acknowledge mistakes (behaviour) and create meaningful change.
